The Test of Reception go Grammar (TROG 1 and 2) is a number of multiple choice questions using a picture format assess for language grammar.  The creator of the test 1 and 2 was by Professor Bishop (2003).  Test 2 is a shorter version of TROG 1 and takes 20 minutes to complete.  In a picture selection format a person with mild intellectual disability is asked to select the picture that best fits to the sentence used.  This is repeated until all parts are completed.  Each question has a score and these sub-total are added together for the grand total.  The grand total is the score that informs the practitioner of the level the person is at regarding grammar understanding and so can tailor the interaction accordingly. So for example the total will equate to a grammar age like 8 years old.  The practitioner adjusts the speech to suit the age, communication in straight forward sentences using plain English.
